School. Another year, another challenge.

Does your child need:

- More time to grasp learning concepts?

- Longer class periods for Reading or Math?

- Prefer fewer students in the classroom?

- Require IEP accommodations?

Welcome

Evidence-based findings confirm that a smaller learning environment can be the key to success.

At Benjamin Academy, each classroom promotes individualized lesson plans that include additional time, breaks, manipulatives, anxiety-free classrooms, as traditional methods of learning in a General Education environment.

About Benjamin Academy

Our Mission

At Benjamin Academy, our mission is to empower every child by embracing their unique learning differences. We focus on creating a nurturing environment that fosters self-confidence and personal growth for all students.

Our STUDENTS

Benjamin Academy is a private school south of Atlanta, designed to meet the needs of children who learn differently. We promote growth while establishing a unique lesson plan designed to meet student needs in the classroom daily. Most children who enroll at our school have not been successful in a typical GENERAL classroom setting. Despite many small accommodations, the larger classroom size often prohibits an opportunity for children to achieve their full potential. As children progress, parents may find that their children require a classroom conducive to their individual needs.

Benjamin Academy is a school for high-functioning students who, after a diagnosis, determine they may need a different learning environment.

**Currently, we are unable to serve students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, Behavior Intervention Plans, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, or other Conduct Disorders.**

Students in General Education, Small Autism, Co-taught, or SLD classrooms have achieved optimal success in our programs.

General education and adaptive education represent different approaches to teaching and learning, specifically when paired with Differentiated Instruction (DI).

General Ed Curriculum:

Provides a broad, standardized curriculum for all students, while adaptive education tailors the learning experience to meet the unique needs of individual students, especially those with learning differences or disabilities.

Students who may require an Adaptive Curriculum:

The curriculum adapts in real-time based on student performance and learning styles, potentially adjusting difficulty levels, content, or pace.

*No change to content, goals, or expected outcomes with standards taught

Style of teaching that meets the needs of diverse learners:

Small-Group sessions

Paired-Reading

Use of Manipulatives

Heavy use of Chunking & Scaffolding

Think-Pair-Share
